Doug Zanes

Doug has practiced law since 1997 and began his career as a personal injury litigator with a law firm in Phoenix, Arizona. After litigating hundreds of personal injury cases, he then took a job doing criminal defense work in order to obtain significant jury trial experience. When his experience was gained, he moved to Mexico to participate in a Spanish immersion program to become fluent in Spanish. He believed that the ability to represent Spanish-speaking clients would allow him to help more people.

In his years of practice, he has represented criminal defendants on cases ranging from misdemeanors to more serious felonies. He has represented clients in jury trials in both state and federal levels. Doug also has represented clients in the United States Court of Appeals in the Ninth Circuit and was the prevailing attorney in a Ninth Circuit published opinion.

After a successful career in advertising and sales, Claudia joined Doug in opening Zanes Law in 2003.

Her extensive background in advertising, sales, marketing, and business have helped grow what is now one of the largest personal injury law firms in Southern Arizona. Since its opening, the firm has expanded by adding a second location and ultimately moving into its own building. By planning, putting together a team of excellent support staff, and managing financial and physical resources, the firm operates at maximum capacity with several hundred open cases at all times.
